In the Making

The exhibition In the Making explored the essence of craftsmanship by shifting the focus from the final product to the creative process itself. Rather than showcasing completed works, the exhibition highlighted the artisans, their hands, their tools, and their workshops.

By omitting the finished objects, In the Making encouraged visitors to imagine each artisan’s potential creations, leaving space for interpretation and discovery. Photographs by Matteo Losurdo and Lorenzo Basadonna Scarpa beautifully captured the magic of the workshops, the uniqueness of the tools, and the skillful hands of eight artisans, each a master of a different craft. The setup was created using the original silk spools and threads from Tessitura Bevilacqua.
